Kenny Chesney and Flashback Pics

Two weeks ago Steve and I had the great privilege of going to Kenny Chesney's Going Coastal concert. Now in all honesty we are not huge Kenny Chesney fans, but we were REALLY excited about going because we were going with old college friends we hadn't seen in a while.

Last time we went to see Kenny Chesney was our senior year of college at Florida State (8 years ago- yikes!)

We had a fun time that night and here are some flashback pictures from back then...

This is one of Steve's college roomate Scott and my old roomie Ashley. It's so funny to see this picture of us and think about the endless hours we spent dressing up before going out. She is now a mom of two beautiful little children and lives in Texas:)

This is the group of ladies going to the concert that night. On the blue is my friend Mary looking cute as always. I think I was trying to imitate her style with the white tank top and pink long sleeve shirt :) Funny that is almost exactly what I wore to the concert two weeks ago!

Here is another picture from that night.. notice how I'm wearing BRIGHT red lipstick which I wore all through college... apparently no one told me there were other shades available!

Mary and her husband Brian (also Steve's rooomate) drove in from Orlando. They are expecting their first baby boy due in July :)

And here is Scott now. He misses no opportunity to dress up, but he joined us late as he had to work that Saturday.

Mary and her sister-in-law Kaley, who is also expecting their first baby in July and they are due within 10 days of each other. They were the cutest pregnant ladies together!

There were 13 of us that went to the concert, but I did not get pictures of the rest. There were some funny characters that day all decked out in their all-american style gear! Very entertaining to watch.

And just for fun... here are some other pictures I originally thought were from the Kenny Chesney back in college, but turned out they were from our senior year hayride. It's funny to me how young we look and wanted to share.

I love this one because Jack was SO sweet that day. He was in the best mood, ate so well, and went down for a nap beatifully. It was just one of those days I was extra grateful to be his mommy.

I like this one because he is trying to look cool in his glasses. Although he still won't wear them for long, he always wants to put them on if Steve and I wear them! After he puts them on he has the cutest little smirk on his face but he tries really hard not to smile. It is really adorable!

When Jack is in a really good mood, he will throw his head back and laugh. He is kind of doing it in this picture, and he has even thrown his head back SO far that he's fallen backwards many times.

Grandpa took him to the aquarium a few weeks ago and took this picture. He looks funny with his shirt open and this always gives me a good laugh.

This is a sweet picture of Jack and Steve from dinner last Saturday. I can see most of his teeth in his smile! :)

18 months

Dear Jack,

I can't believe you are already 18 months! You are such a delight and a blessing to your daddy and me.When you were a newborn I couldn't wait for you to grow up  so you'd be able to sleep through the night... now I just wish you would stay this age forever.

You love to dance to the guitar Miss Chrissy got you for your birthday. When you are on a roll you go around repeatedly in circles and then start kicking on leg over and over again as if you were a rockstar :)

Your favorite food is cheese, pasta, and waffles. You don't like to try new things, and are fine eating avocados, boiled eggs, pasta, and rice over and over.

You absolutely hate chicken and spit it out every time much to your daddy's dismay (he is in love with chicafila)

You also like to show off your 'winnie the pooh' car. When we are in our front porch in the afternoons, you will get our neighbors attention and point to your car, and say 'Car, car!' over and over again until they look at it and tell you how cool it is. Must be a guy thing.

Your favorite TV shows are Mickey mouse clubhouse, Trucks, and handy manny. You actually really like to watch TV although we try not to let you very often.

Currently you are obsessed with all things 'fishy' and 'trucks'. You wake up many mornings saying 'ishy' over and over again and putting your hands up as if saying 'Where is my ishy?'. Your obsession for 'balls' seemed to died down a few months ago, although you still like them very much.

When you were a baby I had this idea that you were going to be a very independent/strong willed toddler. So far you have proved me wrong- because you have a sweet spirit and listen pretty well to us. You have started on your temper tantrums, but they are not as often as I thought they might be (so far).

I am SO thankful for you everyday! I remembered Andrew yesterday as he would've turned 32 months on your 18 month birthday. It is special to me you were both born on the 14th. Although you will never replace Andrew, you are a delight and my season of joy.

God truly has turned our mourning to dancing and our sorrow to joy!

This verse reminds me of both of you... 

"Mordecai recorded these events and he sent letters to all the Jews throughout the provinces ...to have them celebrate annually the fourteenth and fifteenth days of the month of Adar as the time when the Jews got relief from their enemies, and as the month when their sorrow was turned into joy and their mourning into a day of celebration" Esther 9:20-21
